Torta della Nonna, or “Grandmother’s Cake,” is a beloved Tuscan dessert that tastes like a warm hug in pastry form.
We start with a buttery, golden shortcrust base, fill it with a smooth custard, and top it with a delicate scatter of toasted pine nuts and almonds. Finished with a light dusting of sugar, it’s creamy, citrusy, and comforting in every bite.

Had this with my afternoon coffee and it was perfect. Just sweet enough, with lovely texture.
The pastry was buttery and held together nicely. Loved the dusting of sugar and the little crunch from the pine nuts.
