Moist chocolate sponge layered with apricot jam and coated in glossy chocolate, Italian Sacher is Venice’s refined take on Austria’s iconic cake.
This one felt fancy but still comforting. The chocolate was proper deep and rich — not too sweet at all.
The kind of cake you take small bites of just to make it last. So much flavour packed into one slice.
Had it at a market and went back the next day for another. Just a really lovely cake, beautifully made.
Loved the dense sponge with that smooth chocolate glaze on top. Had it with coffee and it was bang on.
Felt like a proper treat. Not too sweet either, just really fudgy and satisfying.
